Highlights of Bush's Speech and My Comments
My greatest responsibility as President is to protect the American people. (Period. “This is my mission and my primary objective. Anything else is at best, second place. If I fail in this nothing else matters.” Sets the tone for the rest of the speech. - JH)
The terrorists who attacked us -- and the terrorists we face -- murder in the name of a totalitarian ideology that hates freedom, rejects tolerance, and despises all dissent. … The terrorists believe that free societies are essentially corrupt and decadent, and with a few hard blows they can force us to retreat. They are mistaken. (Free societies are built on the blood of patriots. We are made of sterner stuff than those socialist regimes and nations that have always thrown up their hands in surrender and waited for better men to save them. – JH)
After September the 11th, I made a commitment to the American people: This nation will not wait to be attacked again. We will defend our freedom. We will take the fight to the enemy. … There is only one course of action against them: to defeat them abroad before they attack us at home. (Shouldn’t this be obvious? They came here and killed us in the thousands. Never again. – JH)
I recognize that Americans want our troops to come home as quickly as possible. So do I. (Nuff said. Who doubts it? Not me. – JH)
Setting an artificial timetable would send the wrong message to the Iraqis, who need to know that America will not leave before the job is done. It would send the wrong message to our troops, who need to know that we are serious about completing the mission they are risking their lives to achieve. And it would send the wrong message to the enemy, who would know that all they have to do is to wait us out. We will stay in Iraq as long as we are needed, and not a day longer. (An obvious point, but apparently one that must be verbalized to convince the naysayers and weak hearted. – JH)
Some Americans ask me, if completing the mission is so important, why don't you send more troops? If our commanders on the ground say we need more troops, I will send them. But our commanders tell me they have the number of troops they need to do their job. … As we determine the right force level, our troops can know that I will continue to be guided by the advice that matters: the sober judgment of our military leaders. (Hear! Hear! Shut up, all you "armchair generals." The whining of celebrities, politicians and foreign rulers is not “advice that matters.”- JH) As Iraqis make progress toward a free society, the effects are being felt beyond Iraq's borders. Before our coalition liberated Iraq, Libya was secretly pursuing nuclear weapons. Today the leader of Libya has given up his chemical and nuclear weapons programs. Across the broader Middle East, people are claiming their freedom. In the last few months, we've witnessed elections in the Palestinian Territories and Lebanon. These elections are inspiring democratic reformers in places like Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Our strategy to defend ourselves and spread freedom is working. (Just in case someone hasn’t been keeping up. Of course, you’d never know about these positive events from watching the mainstream media. – JH)
We're fighting against men with blind hatred -- and armed with lethal weapons -- who are capable of any atrocity. They wear no uniform; they respect no laws of warfare or morality. (In other words, if we find it necessary to keep them caged up like the animals they are, we will. They are not soldiers, they are monsters. They do not deserve the protections of any agreements that exist between nations. - JH)
The terrorists do not understand America. The American people do not falter under threat, and we will not allow our future to be determined by car bombers and assassins. (We are Americans. We will not have our lives and future dictated to us through intimidation and terror. Who do they think they’re dealing with here? – JH)
And we fight today because terrorists want to attack our country and kill our citizens, and Iraq is where they are making their stand. So we'll fight them there, we'll fight them across the world, and we will stay in the fight until the fight is won. (The crowd had been urged not to make any displays of applause. This comment was the only one before the President closed at which they could not restrain themselves. See, soldiers understand what is at stake and what must be done. – JH)
But Americans have always held firm, because we have always believed in certain truths. We know that if evil is not confronted, it gains in strength and audacity, and returns to strike us again. We know that when the work is hard, the proper response is not retreat, it is courage. And we know that this great ideal of human freedom entrusted to us in a special way, and that the ideal of liberty is worth defending. (The alternative to working for the spread of freedom throughout the world is to cower in fear and allow evil and tyranny to infect the world and that option is not acceptable to anyone but the lowest type of people. – JH)
To the soldiers in this hall, and our servicemen and women across the globe: I thank you for your courage under fire and your service to our nation. I thank our military families -- the burden of war falls especially hard on you. … there is no higher calling than service in our Armed Forces. We live in freedom because every generation has produced patriots willing to serve a cause greater than themselves. Those who serve today are taking their rightful place among the greatest generations that have worn our nation's uniform. When the history of this period is written, the liberation of Afghanistan and the liberation of Iraq will be remembered as great turning points in the story of freedom. (Patton said "The highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of bearing arms for one's country." It is a calling that few have the courage and honor to answer. Thank God a “greatest generation” still exists today. – JH)
Our enemies are brutal, but they are no match for the United States of America, and they are no match for the men and women of the United States military. (Hooah!)

Shut Up And ... Well, Just Shut Up!
Proving once again that Hollywood has nothing useful to add to the national dialogue on any issue of importance, Woody Allen, has put in his 2 cents worth (actually I wouldn't give you 2 cents for it.) Allen told Germany's Der Spiegel that 9/11 is "too small, history overwhelms it."
First, let's look at Der Spiegel. "The Mirror" is Germany's biggest, most influential and most controversial weekly magazine. In 1957 Hans Magnus Enzensberger published an essay in which he criticized "pretended objectivity." Outspoken conservative Franz Josef Strauss contended that Der Spiegel was "the Gestapo of our time," and Socialist Willy Brandt called it "Scheissblatt", or a "crappy paper." It has also been criticized for it's dealings with former Nazis, even SS officers. It is alleged that the Spiegel, which at other times had no qualms about exposing the Nazi past of public figures, may have distorted history and protected perpetrators when it hired these insiders.
Allen continued, "The history of the world is like: He kills me, I kill him, only with different cosmetics and different castings. So in 2001, some fanatics killed some Americans, and now some Americans are killing some Iraqis." The director told the New York Post, "In my childhood, some Nazis killed Jews. And now, some Jewish people and some Palestinians are killing each other. Political questions, if you go back thousands of years, are ephemeral, not important. History is the same thing over and over again."
Wow, I don't know which is more stunning, his arrogance or his ignorance. Yes, the details of significant or catastrophic events in history and the events that precipitated them fade as time passes. American's don't typically spend a lot of time contemplating that raw material and resource concerns were one factor that motivated Japan to attack Pearl Harbor without provocation. But we certainly remember the act of war that occurred that December morning nearly 64 years ago. Jews may not ponder over the socio-economic and political factors that preceded Hitler's ghastly genocide of more than 6 million innocent people. But they remember the Holocaust and they have enough fortitude to say "Never Again!"
The Holocaust was not "some Nazis killed Jews." It was an attempt by an evil and deranged monster to exterminate an entire ethnic and religious group of people. The conflict between Israel & "Palestine" is not "some Jewish people and some Palestinians are killing each other." It is an attempt by terrorists to use religious extremism and hatred to destroy a sovereign nation by murder.
Likewise, 9/11 was not "some fanatics killed some Americans." It was an attack and a declaration of all out war by Islamo-fascist religious zealots against the greatest and most benevolent nation the world has ever known. It was a battle, though not the first, in an ongoing war who's outcome is so dire that the fate of all civilization literally hangs in the balance. Will this world continue on a path toward democracy, freedom and self-determination for all or will it stagger back into another Dark Age of tyranny and torture of the weak and innocent by the evil and ruthless?
In Texas, we still say "Remember the Alamo!" to honor the sacrifice for freedom that was made more than 180 years ago. Time may fog the public perception of the events surrounding 9/11 and this war on terrorism. That does not lessen the historical significance of that day or the importance of the sacrifices being made by our brave military members and their families. This is not just "some fanatics killed some Americans" and any idiot who says that doesn't have enough sense to be given a public pulpit from which to speak.
It is no surprise that such a selfish, self-absorbed and self-important little excuse for a man as Woody Allen fails to see the eternal and historic consequence that 9/11 will always be for our posterity. More proof that entertainers should shut up and entertain. On second thought, in Allen's case he should just shut up.

NOT-the-American Civil Liberties UnionACLU Suspends Southern Chapter Over Minuteman Issue
-AP- The American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico suspended its Las Cruces chapter Monday after learning that a member of the group's board was heading the formation of a Minuteman-style organization in New Mexico. Gary Mitchell, a Ruidoso attorney and president of the ACLU board of directors, said, "We will not tolerate racism and vigilantism in the leadership structure of our organization. They are repugnant to the principles of civil liberties and the mission of the ACLU.'' Clifford Alford, leader of the New Mexico Minutemen, has said he's not a hateful vigilante and that he would like to see immigration policy reformed. He has said that if the federal government allowed more immigrant workers to enter the country legally, many problems on the border would be solved. Alford scouted the New Mexico-Mexico border two weeks ago, looking for sites to station his 42 volunteers to detect illegal immigrants sneaking into the country. His group plans to offer food, water and medical aid but still report the illegal immigrants to the U.S. Border Patrol. ACLU officials have said they will work to stop Alford's group and the Minuteman Project in New Mexico from taking the law into their own hands. "Las Cruces has a large number of passionate, committed civil libertarians,'' he said. "The ACLU intends to work with them to protect all people's civil liberties, regardless of their race, national origin or immigration status.''
I suggest the ACLU change their name. They are not concerned with the Civil Liberties of Americans. Rather, they are focusing on violating the laws of America and the rights of it's people by forcing our government to extend the benefits of American citizenship to anyone.
What are these minutemen thinking? Offering food, water, and medical aid to people sneaking across our border so they can live & work here illegally. Why the American Southwest will soon be another of our gulags!
And Now A Word From Our Founders
"The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence." - John Adams

Teddy, the "Human Being"Regarding interrogation techniques at Guantanomo, Senator Kennedy says that, "as a human being," he cannot condone methods such as "near-drowning." Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment. Cast your mind back, Senator. It was a dark night in 1969. You were a gutless coward, much like now. You were drunk, much like you are now. You lied, much as you do now. You cared more for yourself than than anyone else, much like you do now.
I refuse to be lectured on morals, abuse or how a human being should conduct themselves by a man who committed murder through depraved indifference.

Today in US History
The U.S. Constitution went into effect this day, June 21, 1788, when the ninth state ratified it.
Of those who wrote the Constitution, twenty-nine were Episcopalians, nine Presbyterians, seven Congregationalists, two Lutherans, two Dutch Reformed, two Methodists, two Roman Catholics, one Quaker and one Deist - Dr. Benjamin Franklin, who stated: "We have been assured...in the Sacred Writings, that 'except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain'...I...believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel."

Is Iraq "Worth It"?
Some say no. I'll admit that if my child or spouse had given their life over there that might influence my own opinion and I might think differently than I do. Over at the Washington Post, Robert Kagan addresses the question of 'whether this war was worth it' and makes some good points.
"One problem is that we always know what did happen as a result of war, but we never know what didn't happen. What if we had not gone to war in Europe in 1917, Korea in 1950, or even Vietnam in the 1960s? Would we have rued those decisions not to act as much as we now rue the decision not to drive Hitler out of the Rhineland in 1936? ... We know what happened as a result of not going to war in 1936. We know, in particular, that British efforts to avoid war ... did not prevent war at all but only delayed it." (And, I might add, strengthened Hitler's resolve and military capabilities. - James)
"A more intriguing question is whether a decision not to go to war in 2003 would have produced lasting peace or would only have delayed war until a later date -- as in the 1930s. There is a strong argument to be made that Hussein would have pushed toward confrontation and war at some point, no matter what we did. His Hitler-like megalomania does not seem to be in question. ... He fancied himself the new Saladin, much as Napoleon and Hitler had fancied themselves the new Caesar."

You Go, Girl!
For the first time since World War II, a female soldier has been awarded the Silver Star Medal for gallantry.
SGT Leigh Ann Hester, SSGT Timothy Nein and SPC Jason Mike received the Silver Star for their actions during an enemy ambush on their convoy. Their squad was following a supply convoy March 20 when terrorist fighters ambushed the it. After the squad cut off the terrorists escape route, Hester led her team into a flanking position, assaulting a trench line with grenades. She and Nein, the squad leader, then cleared two trenches. Hester killed three terrorists during the action. When the firefight was over, 27 terrosists were dead, six wounded, and one captured.
"I'm honored to even be considered, much less awarded, the medal," SGT Hester said. "It really doesn't have anything to do with being a female. It's about the duties I performed that day as a soldier." She said she didn't have time to be scared when the fight started, and she didn't realize the impact of what had happened until much later. "Your training kicks in and the soldier kicks in. It's your life or theirs. ... You've got a job to do -- protecting yourself and your fellow comrades."
Army Lt. Gen. John R. Vines, Multinational Corps Iraq commanding general presented the medals at Camp Liberty, Iraq. "My heroes don't play in the NBA and don't play in the U.S. Open at Pinehurst," Vines said. "They're standing in front of me today. These are American heroes."

Among the highlights: "...you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."
"Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. ... You've got to find what you love. ...the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle."
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
"When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog ... created by a fellow named Stewart Brand ... It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions. Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. ... On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you."
Read the whole speech here. This puts that "sunscreen" thing of a few years ago to shame.
Somebody Get Some Hinges!
The Democrats (or is that Deanocrats) are become more unhinged evey day.
First, Howard "Yearrgh!" Dean shoots the party in the foot every time he opens his mouth. Now Richard Durbin is taking after Charles Rangel by comparing our military to Nazi's, Stalin, and Pol Pot. He did apologize. (Not really, what he said was, "Sorry you're too stupid to catch the subtle nuance of what I really meant." Yeah, we're not stupid enough to buy that load of fertilizer, Dick.) Turban Durbin
Now John Conyers is holding "meetings" in a basement storage room and condemning Bush. Hey, it fooled C-Span into actually covering it! Let's Pretend

Also, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Richard Myers, said, "If you release them or let them go back to their home countries, they would turn around and try to slit our throats, our children's throats. These are the people who took four airplanes and flew them into three buildings on Sept. 11."
Whatever Happened To State's Rights?
In 1788, [James Madison, chief author of our Constitution,] noted pointedly that the "powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined." Those of the states, by contrast, "are numerous and indefinite."
This week, addressing the same question, the Supreme Court said, "James who?" - Steve Chapman
"Each State, in ratifying the Constitution, is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others, and only to be bound by its own voluntary act. In this relation, then, the new Constitution will, if established, be a federal, and not a national constitution." - James Madison

We are getting actionable intelligence from these terrorists. If you don't believe it read about "Detainee 063", the subject of the current Time cover story. Mohammed al-Qahtani, is a follower of Osama and believed to be the "20th hijacker." He tried to enter the U.S. in August 2001 to take part in the Sept. 11 attacks. By interrogating him our people have identified other Al Qaeda members at Gitmo.
Of the more than 10,000 enemy "soldiers" captured in Afghanistan about 750 were taken to Gitmo. There are now about 500 Islamists detained there. That means we've released 250. Now, check this out, of those released two former detainees were killed in Afghanistan last year, fighting for the enemy. Another was apprehended during a raid on a terrorist training camp. One of those released turned up in Pakistan, suspected of being involved in the deadly kidnapping of two Chinese engineers.
That's four out of 250, that we know of. It is certain there are more we've freed who are now waging war against us ... again. So, do the math. Four out of 250 with 500 remaining. That's 12 out of the original 750. Like I said, there are more. How many did it take to wreak 9/11? Nineteen. Wanna bet there are 10 times that number waiting for the same kind of "heavenly calling" at Gitmo right now? Do you really want to turn them loose?
According to Rich Lowry, writing in the Arizona Daily Star, "the United States is taking a step toward becoming the first country in world history to prove itself incapable of the elemental act of self-defense of simply detaining its enemies."
What I've Learned From Blogging
There are a lot of things to be learned from blogging.
1. The blogosphere is populated by a disproportionate number of idiots. 1a. A lot of other bloggers will think that you're one of the idiots. 1b. A lot of bloggers, including me, are not as smart as they think they are.
2. If you're lucky and persistent, the good stuff you read on other blogs will outweigh the useless garbage you wade through.
3. A lot bloggers are pretty egotistical and believe they are the only sane voices crying out in the wilderness in defense of (fill in the blank).
4. There is a very small percentage of bloggers with something intelligent to say or something valuable to contribute. You will not be one of those until you get over yourself and stop thinking you already are.
5. For the most part, blogs don't persuade or convert the opposition. They preach to the choir. (This is perfectly OK. The choir needs to hear the good news preached just as much as anyone)
6. Since you're not likely to change anyone's mind about an issue there's no point getting into a flame war with a poster or another blogger. (Especially not on their site!)
7. Don't try to blog about what you think will interest other people or get your blog talked about. You'll get the most satisfaction from blogging about things you find interesting, about issues you believe in.
8. Don't blog because you think it's cool. Do it because you have something to say. Do it because you want to try to bring attention to an issue or recognition to something or someone.
9. Don't get discouraged. Not everyone is going to agree with you. In fact, surprisingly, some people will disagree with you. Loudly and vehemently.
10. Don't get discouraged. There is very little "overnight success" in the blogosphere. In his first month, FrankJ at IMAO.us only got about 100 comments. If you're doing it for hits or comments or recognition prepare to be disappointed.

It Is Well With My Soul
A simple post that clearly illustrates the hardships and heartaches our men and women are enduring in order to take freedom to Iraq and Afghanistan.
This idea for this post actually started a long time ago. My best friend and I began making an unwritten list of ways to know when the liberal (or other disinformed person) you're debating knows that they are losing ground.
It finally got written down today when I was making comments on another blog.
Ways To Know The Person You’re Debating Is Losing:
They say, “Let’s bring down the level of rhetoric.”
They say, “We can argue semantics all day long…”
They speak in a very calm, soothing, patronizing tone to appear rational and reasonable and to make you appear excitable.
They say, “Don’t question my patriotism (or conservatism, morals, etc.)”
They call your comments "mean-spirited and divisive."
They incessantly insist, "I'm not a liberal, (centrist, independent, etc.)"
Consider all those who disagree to be "idiots", "amateurs", "moonbats", etc.
They degenerate to exactly the behavior and tactics they accused you of.
And the ultimate way to know you’ve won any debate, the other person censors and silences you.
I'm sure that we'll think of more as we continue to run into these idiots.
What do you think the World Trade Center Memorial should depict? Should it be a "heaping foreign policy discussion over the greater meaning of Abu Ghraib and what it portends for the country and the rest of the world"? No, it should be a true remembrance of what was done to the United States on September 11th, 2001.
Should it be "a high-tech, multimedia tutorial about man's inhumanity to man, from Native American genocide to the lynchings and cross-burnings of the Jim Crow South, from the Third Reich's Final Solution to the Soviet gulags and beyond"? No, it should it be an authentic memorial to the thousands of innocents who were slaughtered that terrible day. A heartfelt memorial to the police, firefighters and other public servants who rushed to help instead of running from danger. It should be a ringing condemnation of the fanatic, maniacal Islamic terrorists who murdered those people and a declaration of our resolve to say, "Never forget, never forgive, never again!"
Hillary Hypocrite
Speaking before a gathering of "Women for Hillary" in Manhattan, the junior Senator from New York appears to have lost touch with reality - or she thinks we have. Her comments are astounding in their hypocrisy.
"There has never been an administration, I don't believe in our history, more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," Clinton said, as the Democrats continue to refuse to allow straight up or down votes on John Bolton and Bush's other nominees.
"It's very hard to stop people who have no shame about what they're doing. It is very hard to tell people that they are making decisions that will undermine our checks and balances and constitutional system of government who don't care. It is very hard to stop people who have never been acquainted with the truth." Wow! Doesn't this sound more like a soundbyte from the Clinton years? Heck, it probably is!
"Some honestly believe they are motivated by the truth, they are motivated by a higher calling, they are motivated by, I guess, a direct line to the heavens." Frankly, if you don't believe that you are motivated by truth and a higher calling you shouldn't be involved in politics and government.
"The press is missing in action, with all due respect. Where are the investigative reporters today? Why aren't they asking the hard questions? It's shocking when you see how easily they fold in the media today. They don't stand their ground. If they're criticized by the White House, they just fall apart. I mean, c'mon, toughen up, guys, it's only our Constitution and country at stake. Let's get some spine." I assume she's referring to Newsweek's refusal to go to press with Michael Isikoff's thoroughly sourced story on Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. (Or perhaps their refusal to move on Isikoff's story on Clinton and Kathleen Willey. Or maybe their failure to publish Isikoff's reporting on Clinton and Paula Jones.) She certainly can't be talking about today's press with it's out-of-all-proportion attention to "torture" at Abu Ghraib and "abuse" at Guantanamo.
Clinton also said she wants to "move back toward a progressive agenda that will lift up people." Right! Like welfare that takes away people's motivation and incentive to work for a better life? Or affirmative action and racial quotas that continue to maintain a class system and create a self-fulfilling prophecy of inferiority for minorities?
"This administration wants to ... undo and turn the clock back on the progress of the 20th century, ... whether it's the right to be able to have a choice when it comes to the most private and intimate decisions that a woman has to make..." I believe women should have the right to choose. And they should be responsible in the choices of when to be "intimate." Perhaps then the choice to murder another innocent human being for convenience sake wouldn't be such an issue.
"We cannot give them (Republicans) another two years of majority. We cannot give them another four years after that. ... I stay awake at night thinking about all the mistakes and the wrong direction and all the bad decisions being made in Washington." By this point I think what she really means is all the mistakes and bad decisions being made by American voters. I mean, how on Earth could we have elected these horrible people to lead us? And it's inconceivable to the Democrats that we might continue to do so.
Clinton claims Bush's top financial priority is tax cuts for the wealthy. And why not? The overwhelming majority of federal income taxes are paid by the very highest income earners. The top 1% of income earners pay about 32% of all income taxes. The top 50% of earners pay more than 96% of the taxes. 96 percent! That means half of us are paying for nearly all of us. Why shouldn't they get a cut?
She also criticized Bush for focusing on funding the war in Iraq, rather than the needs of Americans who lack health insurance, affordable housing and good schools. Folks, if we don't win the struggle in Iraq and help them achieve a stable, strong government, if we don't continue to wholeheartedly find, engage and destroy terrorists around the world who want to kill you and me and our children then healthcare, insurance, and education won't matter. The equation changed on 9/11 and our priorities had change to. That the Democrats can't see that is yet further evidence of their incompetence to be involved in government.

Quran "abuse" Detailed
The Pentagon has released details about so-called "abuse" and "mishandling" of the Quran by guards and interrogators at Guantanamo.
An interesting fact: In reviewing thousands of pages of records, only nine alleged instances of "mishandling" were credible enough for review. Of those nine only five cases could be confirmed. It appears that in those five cases the US personnel responsible were disciplined.
What is truly telling is this: The investigation found 15 cases of detainees mishandling their own Qurans! That's right, these "devout" Muslims, (who are being held in the hopes they will yield valuable intelligence about Al Qaeda, the terrorist group which on September 11, 2001 brutally murdered more than 3,000 innocent people) have less respect for their "holy" book than we do. According to Brigadier General Jay Hood, the commander at the detention center, inmates used the Quran as a pillow, ripped pages out of the Quran, attempted to flush a Quran down the toilet and urinated on the Quran. Sounds as if those outraged rioters need to redirect their anger.
